stage one:

seasonal foundations

embodied introduction to seasonal living & healing

Seasonal Foundations introduces participants to healing through seasonal awareness, self-care practices, and shared learning.

This year offers practical tools for supporting oneself and others, alongside an embodied introduction to Chinese medical cosmology. Participants learn to recognize seasonal patterns in the body, practice simple forms of care, and develop a relationship with medicine as something lived and relational.

Stage One is a foundation year — focused on personal practice, community care, and continuity over time. Completion of all 5 seasons of Stage One is required to continue on to Stage Two: Apprenticeship

  • Stage One is for those who:

    • wish to care for themselves with greater awareness, guided by the rhythms of the seasons.

    • wish to learn simple tools of healing, to treat themselves, family, and friends.

    • enjoy learning in community — through shared practice, conversation, and hands-on experience.

    • are curious about cosmology and how it shows up in the body, daily life, and the turning of the year.

    • are curious, committed, and willing to learn through time and practice rather than quick results.

    • five seasonal cycles, each lasting 12 weeks

    • one season = 6 in-person classes of 2 hours each

    • teaching that combines instruction, demonstration, discussion, and reflective practice

    • a paced rhythm that allows integration alongside work, family, and other commitments

    • practices may include simple seasonal rituals, self-care tools & techniques, reflection, and communal learning

    • enrollment on a per season basis

    • in-person seasonal teaching

    • access to newly recorded and previously recorded materials for review

    • access to a communication platform for announcements and shared reflections

    • a set of foundational tools of healing

    • text book to support learning across the year

  • one season is:

    • 6 classes

    • 2 hours per class

    • in-person

    • every other week for 12 weeks (late summer season is every Monday)

    • light reflective or observational practices between classes (no required homework)

    • optional recorded materials to support review and reflection between sessions

    • $575 per season

    • tools and text book included

    stage one: seasonal foundations is offered on a seasonal basis to honor the rhythm of the work rather than requiring a single upfront commitment for an entire year.
